Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is essential for any work environment where accidents may occur involving those handling tools. It is no different in bodywork and painting, as professionals in this area spend a large part of their day exposed to elements that can be harmful to their health, such as solvents, paints and sharp objects.
To ensure that all work is carried out safely, we have selected three essential PPEs for work in a bodywork and paint shop.
1 – Protective Coverall
The use of protective clothing is essential for those who work exposed to sparks, sharp materials and chemical products.
THE BodyGuard Jumpsuit It is ideal for this type of work. Its fabric is light, breathable and comfortable, in addition to being easily washable due to its antistatic properties. Therefore, it is an ideal jumpsuit for the routine work of a bodywork and paint shop.
2 – Protective Gloves
Just like clothing, protective gloves cover the part of your body that is most exposed to products: your hands.
The most suitable are the Nitrile Gloves. They are super-resistant and combine comfort with protection. They do not contain talc or latex, which can cause allergies with frequent use. In addition, they are manufactured without zinc, sulfur and accelerators, elements that can be harmful to the environment. They are divided into two colors and weights: black and gray.
The Black Nitrile Glove is specifically designed for application in painting details due to its thinner grammage. This glove allows greater sensitivity when applying to small parts, due to its thickness to the touch.
The Gray Nitrile Glove can be used for any type of paint application. It is recommended that both gloves be used as disposable gloves to avoid accidents such as tears during use.
3 – Respiratory Mask
Once the entire body is protected externally, it is important to ensure that the worker is careful with what he or she inhales into his or her body. Therefore, the use of respiratory masks is essential. They protect the painter from all types of elements that could harm and even cause diseases in his or her airways.
THE Respiratory Mask protects workers from inhaling paint and solvents, as it has carbon and activated carbon filters that protect the airways of those exposed to paint mist.
The use of PPE for automotive repainting is one of the requirements of labor laws. It is important that the workshop owner always purchases quality products to contribute to the health and well-being of his employees.
THE Orange Painting Booths offers all these PPEs and delivers throughout Brazil.
